How to get here
The nearest airport from Flachau is located in Salzburg. The airport is the largest in the region and serves hundreds of flights from all over Europe. If you go to Flachau by car from Salburg (60 km), then choose the southern route A10. The journey from Munich takes about 1, 5 hours by bus.
Flachau does not pass the railway lines, but you can get to the Radstadt station, and from it to the resort about 12 km. You can check the prices of tickets and timetables for trains to Radstadt at the official website (www.oebb.at)

Although Flachau belongs to to the resorts operating year-round, the ski season is opened here in late November and closed by mid-April (from 26.11 to 15.04 for the 2011/2012 season). The local lift infrastructure is considered one of the best in Europe and provides a pass "without queues" to 26,000 people per hour. However, note that during school holidays there are quite a lot of people and there can be queues at the ski lifts
The height of the Flachau trails varies from 827 m to 2000 m and their total length is 111 km , of which 26 km are blue, 74 km red and 11 km black. The length of the longest track (Griessenkar-Abfahrt) is 6 km. At an altitude of 1980 m there is a carving line. There are lighted tracks for evening and night skiing, as well as a snowboard park with a half-pipe. The snow cannon system works effectively, so there is always snow, despite the amount of precipitation in the local Alps. In Flachau, more than 34 km of cross-country trails have been laid, with the possibility of cross-country skiing through the local valleys.
In the village there are ski schools (the most famous of them is the name of the champion Hermann Mayer), kindergartens, rental shops (the most standard equipment choice ), a specialized sports center with a swimming pool and tennis courts

The daily ski pass during the high season will cost from 26 € to 42.50 € for adults, from 12.50 € to 20.50 € for children and from 19.50 € up to 31.50 € for teenagers (season 2011 \ 2012). When buying a ticket, you must present a passport or any other identification card with a photograph.
Another advantage of Flachau is the possibility of one ski pass to visit several nearby villages that are part of the Amadea ski resort. For example, from the center of Flachau on the ski bus you can reach Radstadt, Kleinarl, Flachauwinkle or Zauchensee in less than 15 minutes
