To perform the hajj to Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 2015, Russians will need to present a passport with an electronic chip (biometric passport). In the current year, many of our compatriots have experienced inconveniences in obtaining a visa with old-style passports, associated mainly with delays. But next year only those who will issue a new passport will be able to visit Mecca. This is a mandatory condition for obtaining a visa.

The procedure for applying for a biometric passport is not too different from the procedure for obtaining an old passport. The set of documents has remained the same, plus you will be photographed directly in the division of the MFA.
