The national flag of Estonia is a rectangular tricolor measuring 105 × 165 cm, consisting of the same the value of horizontal bands. Lower - white, above it black, at the top - cornflower blue. The white color of the flag means purity of mind, dedication, readiness for hard work, recalls the white sails of ships and that Estonia has access to the sea. This flag was created in 1881 by members of the national student corporation "Vironia" and consecrated 3 years later. It became a symbol for all who fought for the independence of Estonia. When it was proclaimed for the first time, on February 24, 1918, "blue-black-white" became the national flag. While Estonia was part of the USSR, tricolor was not used. He reigned in the tower of the capital only in 1990, and a year later Estonia again became independent.
