Article 70 of the Constitution of the Swiss Confederation recognizes the official German (t .n .Swiss German dialect), French (t .n .Swiss French) and Italian languages and assigns a special status to the Romanshman .In this case, each Swiss canton independently as the official establishes the language that is most common in its territory and is recognized by the inhabitants .In other words, the presence of four legally recognized languages does not imply that every Swiss citizen must know them all and speak to them: most use one or two languages .
