Malaga is a large port city with a charming historical center, which can be explored in a day, and modern areas with high-rise and large shopping centers .This is the logical consequence of two popular tourist activities: shopping and walking through winding streets with an abundance of greenery and flowers around .But first of all, Malaga is, of course, a beach resort with excellent beaches, the same hotels and a vibrant nightlife .For recreation with children the local coast is not suitable for one hundred percent - the sea for them can be cold, and everyone else will like the combination of sultry air and refreshing water .
Here, the artist Picasso and the artist Banderas were born, hence the many museums, streets and restaurants and hotels named after the first, the second simply adored. For the sake of justice, we point out two facts: Picasso lived in Malaga only in infancy, but the collection of his works in a new building specially built for this purpose is really very worthy.

You can get to the city center from there by taxi, the parking lot is located at the exit from Terminal 2. However, it should be borne in mind that in the summer, queues for a vacant car are impressive. The fare to the center is about 20 EUR, to the port of Malaga - about 25 EUR.

Beaches of Malaga
The nearest beach to the center of Malaga is La Malagueta. Despite the fact that no one comes here for beach rest (and everyone visits the city exclusively with "transfer" or sightseeing purposes), here you can spend an excellent day at sea. Other good beaches - more quiet and picturesque - are located to the east of the center. You can get there during a long but pleasant walk along the sea or by bus towards El Palo (line 33).
Kitchen and restaurants
Along the coast of Malaga there are many good restaurants and so-called chiringuitos (beach cafes), where you can taste fresh fish, giving seas, paella, sangria. One of the most famous chiringuitos is El Tintero, on the east of the beach. The menu is not here, the waiters just tell us what cooks made special today.
Typical food in Malaga is espetos, peculiar "shish kebabs" made of bamboo sticks and fried sardines; and pescaíto frito - all kinds of fish that were caught in the morning near Malaga and fried for the delight of tourists in a frying pan. You can also try a typical Andalusian dish of tuna, pickled with garlic and wine vinegar - Cazon en adobo. Or coquinas - small clams in white wine.
The famous sweet Malag wine can be enjoyed in almost every bar in the city, but best of all - in the center. For example, in the ancient La Casa del Guardia (Avenue Alameda Principal) or the traditional El Pimpi, where there were every local - from the pretentious celebrity to the teenagers chasing the ball on the beach.
Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Malaga
In Malaga there is: the cathedral (which is often called La Mangita or our One-Handset - its southern bell tower has never been completed), the labyrinth of medieval streets, where dusty antique shops hide, the lighthouse of Hibralfaro, the Arab fortress of Alcazaba with fountains and orange trees, Roman ruins, a picturesque promenade, and also more than 30 km of fortress walls of the most different period.
- Discard stereotyped behavior and go to the beach.
- Consistently inspect all the important sights of the city.
- Respect the old man Picasso, visiting both of his museum.
Also, the curious travelers in Malaga are waiting for two excellent museums - the new Picasso Museum (opened in 2002) and the old Casa da Natal-de-Picasso complex. Also noteworthy are the exhibitions of the Patrimonio Museum (Municipal Museum), the Museum of Contemporary Art (CAC Malaga), the Interactive Music Museum (MIMMA), the City Museum and the Museum of Folk Traditions and Art.
September 17, 2010 in Malaga opened the Museum of cars with a rich collection of luxury old cars Bugatti, Packard, Rolls Royce and Delage. The collection consists of several thematic sections: Belle Époque, "20s", Art Deco, Dolce Vita, "Eccentricity", "Dream car", "Popular cars", "English tradition", "Tuning". A separate exhibition "Cars and hats" will tell you about how to combine with a particular car headwear from Balenciaga or Dior.
