City districts
Most of the city is located on the right bank of the Volga River, 20 km to east is the satellite city Novocheboksarsk, and 650 km - Moscow. The rest of the city, which is on the left bank of the river, is predominantly occupied by a pine forest and is used as a recreational area. The two banks of the river are connected to each other via five automobile bridges, through which the main transport arteries of Cheboksary pass.
The main sights of the city, hotels and restaurants are in the historical center, along the main thoroughfare from Moscow to Kazan. Most of the historical buildings of Cheboksary were lost with the construction of a hydroelectric power station and the subsequent flooding of part of the city. In exchange, Cheboksary received an artificial bay, which, together with the Volga embankment, is the main resting place for citizens.
Transport
Trolleybuses and buses (tickets are sold by a conductor), shuttle buses act as a public transport. The stops are announced in two languages: Russian and Chuvash. Working hours: 5: 30-23: 00.

How to get to Cheboksary
Cheboksary is practically in the middle between Nizhny Novgorod (240 km) and Kazan (166 km). The federal highway M7 "Volga" and the road A119 "Vyatka" pass through the city.
Cheboksary Airport is connected by regular passenger service only to Moscow. Flights are performed by "Rusline" airlines (daily from Vnukovo airport) on CRJ-100 and Izhavia planes (daily except Saturdays, from Domodedovo) by An-24 aircraft. Flight duration ~ 1, 5 hours.

- From Kazan buses depart daily, more than 10 a day. The last bus leaves at 19:00, the journey time is 3-4 hours.
- The suburban bus station is not far from the central bus station, and it accepts buses from neighboring settlements, including district centers located a short distance from the city.
- From the suburban bus station, flights are sent to nearby towns that are of no interest to tourists.
- Novoselskaya bus station is located in the North-West region, next to the building of the Cheboksary Cooperative Institute (M. Gorky Ave., 21, stop "Novoe Selo").
