The state reserve "Vishersky", located on the western slope of the Northern Urals of the Perm region, was founded in 1991 .Occupying an area of 2412 square meters .km the reserve stretches from the south to the north for more than 90 km, from the west to the east - for 30-plus km .In the reserve are concentrated unique and typical only for the Northern Urals mountain landscapes .In addition, Western Vishera is a natural habitat for 36 species of mammals (reindeer, sable and others .), 155 species of birds, 3 species of amphibians and more than 12 species of fish (European grayling, Siberian taimen and others .)
To the most valuable natural sites of the reserve are the Visherskaya Cave, the waterfalls of the Taboraya and Svetly Stream rivers, the Bobrovaya River, the Saklaimori-Chakhl Mountain, the Tulimsky Ridge, the Alyunyan Glacier and others.
Protected territory of the reserve is removed from the nearest large cities of the Perm and Sverdlovsk regions: Krasnovishersk is located 170 km from the reserve, Solikamsk - 270 km, Berezniki - 300 km, Perm - 480 km, Severouralsk - 80 km, Ivdel - 150 km . The settlements nearest to the "Visher" Reserve are the villages of Vaja and Vols, located respectively 90 and 45 km down the Vyshera River.
