The architectural and ethnographic museum of wooden architecture "Khokhlovka" is one of the main attractions of the Perm region, attracting many visitors every year. Located on the picturesque bank of the Kama River near the village of Khokhlovka, the museum was founded in 1945 as a branch of the Perm Museum of Local Lore and only in 1980 the museum was opened to the first visitors.
Exposition
The exposition of the museum is 23 monuments of wooden architecture, located in the open air and dating from 17-20 centuries. The whole territory of the museum is divided into several sectors: North-Western, Northern and Southern Prikamye, each of which has its own architecture.
Constructions
The most interesting buildings in Khokhlovka are the buildings connected with the extraction of salt; as well as churches, made in the best traditions of Russian wooden architecture. All the constructions of the Khokhlovka salt complex were taken from the Ust-Borovsk salt painting factory from Solikamsk and include a 12-meter brine-picking tower, a salt chest-sump, a casket weighing more than 100 tons, a varnish and a 28 m long salt barn.
Unique samples of residential architecture are concentrated in the "Northern Prikamye" sector, and, here, in the "Southern Prikamye" there is a bell tower of the Trinity Church, brought from the village of Syrah and the Bogoroditskaya church from the village of Tokhtarevo, Suksu district, which is a rare monument of Russian wooden th architecture of the 17th century
