Puri is the main temple city of Orissa in the east of the country and is known as an ancient pilgrimage center. This is one of the four sacred places of India. The name of the city is translated as "abundance", it is also called the Abode of Jagannath. Indians believe that if you live in Puri for three days, you can free yourself from the cycle of rebirth.
In addition, Puri, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, is known as a popular seaside resort.
The main shrine of the city is the temple of Krishna Jagannath, The legend was built on the site of cremation of the body of Krishna about 4000 years ago. The temple is also known for the annual chariot festival - Ratha-Yatra. For non-Hindus, access to the temple is prohibited, so tourists can look at the temple with a flat roof of the library Raghunandan. The library is located opposite the main gate and is open daily from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00
