Perhaps the best option is by train (albeit also with transplants). First the Regional-Express Austrian Railways (ÖBB) line from Vienna to Sopron (a city in the north-west of Hungary, near the Austrian border). Travel time is 1 hour 20 minutes, ticket price is € 14, 5. Then by Regional Hungarian Railways (MÁV) line, you arrive in Szombathely to the west of Hungary for € 5, 80 in 54 minutes. After that you arrive by express train to Kosthay 2 hours 5 minutes (€ 11, 6), and already from there by bus for 20 minutes and 70 euro cents you reach Heviz. In total this way will take 6 hours and € 32, 65.

There is no direct bus service from Vienna to Héviz - unless you go by bus with a transfer in Budapest, however this is long and not expensive: a total of 8, 5 hours and € 141, 5.

By car, let it be overcome in less than 4 hours. The approximate fuel cost that will be required for such a trip is € 30.
