Vung Tau, which proudly bears the name of the "Vietnamese Riviera", is located 128 km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is a resort with developed infrastructure, its coastal strip is densely built up by villas, which were formerly the residence of the elite, and then turned into restaurants and boarding houses. The drawback is, by and large, two: periodic pollution of the sea from nearby drilling platforms and constant but small theft on the beach.

Beaches of Vung Tau

The largest and most popular beaches of the peninsula are Silkworm, Front and Rear. Noteworthy is the small rocky beach with the beautiful French name Roche-Noir.

The front beach (Bãi Trước) is located in the very center of Vung Tau, between the Big and Small Mountains. Nearby - restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels, as well as a small park, which is called - Park front beach. They come here to wait out the heat in the shade of the trees, as well as for the colorful sunsets.

The back beach (Bãi Sau or Thùy Vân Beach) is the only beach in Vung Tau in its normal European sense. It stretches for 3 km from Malaya Gora to Paradise Park and is free of charge, however, for the use of a sunbed and an umbrella you will have to pay: about 50 thousand VN per set per day.

A small silk beach (Bãi Dâu, aka Black Beach) is located west of the Great Mountain. Another nice piece for swimming is Pineapple Beach (Bãi Dứa), which stretches along Hạ Long Street, near the Little Mountain.

Let's talk about everything in detail.

May-Dang lighthouse

The Hai-Dang lighthouse, located on the top of Malaya Gora, was originally built in 1907, until the kerosene lamp ceased to exist. The lighthouse was rebuilt four years later, expanding the base to three meters in diameter, and bringing the height to an impressive 18 meters. Lamp lights are capable of reaching a distance of 35 n miles (which is approximately equal to 65 km). Needless to say, from the "eternal fire" site of Vung Tau, amazing views of the city and the surrounding area open? The cost of visiting about 4 thousand dong.

The Thắng Tam temple complex is also worth seeing, which can be reached from the Front beach along Truong Cong Dinh Street to Tran Hung Dao Park, where you can already turn to Hoang Hoa Tham, which will lead to the exquisite architectural monument of Vung Tau .According to the legend, the complex was built during the times of the Minh Mạng dynasty (1820-1840) as a place of reverence for three husbands who laid three villages Thắng in Vung Tau .Accordingly, here you can learn about the history of this trio and the further development of the resort .The architectural ensemble of the complex includes the Tam Quan gate, a sanctuary, a commune building, a meeting room and a stage for the opera, which is distinguished by its elaborate decoration and engraving .

The city is surrounded by two small peaks, which serve as a favorite place for walks of local holidaymakers. On one of them is installed a huge statue of Jesus Christ, blessing the South China Sea.

After that, the local nicknamed her Bạch Dinh - White Palace. The villa is located on the top of the Great Mountain, at an altitude of 50 meters above sea level. Today, here is an exhibition of antiques collected at the Cau Islet-Con Dao.
