Swiss travel system

The Swiss are sometimes distinguished by the seeming obsessive desire for impeccability and clarity. What really there - often we are ready to take it for boring. But, believe me, those who have ever had time to travel around the country using the proposals of the Swiss travel system - flawlessly organized and working as clearly as the legendary clock of the same name - have appreciated the advantages of this national feature. Perhaps there are not so many countries that can compare with Switzerland in terms of landscape diversity - ridges stretching from the southwest to the northeast across the country, numerous glaciers and glaciers, rivers and lakes, flood meadows and hills ...
The landscape of this tiny country is really amazing - but even more surprising is that it's not difficult to get to any, even the most remote corner of it.

Here I would highlight two main points .The first is a carefully thought out and dense transport network .And it's not just about highways and railways .Switzerland - the country of numerous lakes and rivers, for which all year round leisurely coursers run .For more than a century, lake liners in the Belle Epoque style have been traversing the waters of Lake Geneva, connecting the Swiss villages and cities of the canton of Vaud with the French resorts .The fleet of another large lake, Lucerne, consists of 5 rare wheeled steamers and 15 elegant motor ships .

The second factor of success is how the use of this transport network is organized. Thanks to the unique preferential system of travel - the Swiss travel system - you can travel all over the country with just one ticket. At the same time, the more the company, the cheaper it will cost.

There are 6 types of tickets that can be chosen depending on the terms and circumstances of the trip .For example, the Swiss Pass allows you to move freely throughout the country for 4, 8, 15, 22 days or a whole month .It operates on all types of public transport in 37 Swiss cities and on panoramic trains ."Swiss Suffix Pass" differs from it only in that there are a certain number of days (3, 4, 5, 6 or 8) for a month, and between these days you can take a break .As far as it is convenient, we were able to check on ourselves on those trips, when we did not plan to move around the country every day .Young people under 26 years of age make sense to use the "Swiss Passport" - the same conditions as the "Swiss Pass", but the ticket is a quarter cheaper .For families with children there is a "Family Card": all those under the age of 16 travel free .

These travel cards operate practically on all types of transport: on lake and river, on intercity and city buses, on federal and many private railways.
And if you have such a travel card, you should definitely take a panoramic train ride - this trip will surely be one of the brightest episodes of your trip through Switzerland .The routes of panoramic trains are laid along the most picturesque corners of the country, while the speed of movement is such that you can comfortably enjoy the opening beauties .For example, the "Glacier Express" is an exciting seven-hour journey from St. Moritz to Zermatt, which is at the foot of the Matterhorn .With the legendary vineyards of the Lavaux region you can get acquainted by rolling on the "Wine Train" .And Bernina Express, connecting Kur and Tirano, will take away from the cool north to the sultry south .His way lies through the Bernina pass, and the train has to climb to an altitude of 2253 m above sea level, to the glaciers .But, as you have already understood, to deliver guests comfortably even to hard-to-reach corners of the country for the Swiss is not a problem .There is no doubt that everything will be done clearly, flawlessly, second per second - as here it is accepted .
