Add a review about the gardens of Alfabia

A magnificent example of landscape art from the Moors, the gardens of Alfabia surround the homonymous manor, located in the western part of Mallorca at the slopes of the Tramuntana Mountains. Shady alleys, lined with orange, lemon and other fruit trees, are laid in lush thickets of Mediterranean pines, date and fan palms, and numerous water canals, arranged in the Arab-Moorish manner, with fountains, artificial ponds and whole water galleries bring the desired coolness.

The main building of the manor was rebuilt several times, thanks to which it acquired features of Gothic, Baroque and Moorish style. The last changes were made here in the 18th century, and the oldest building of the manor is a massive tower of the 16th century.

The gardens surrounding the estate are divided into two parts - upper and lower. The more extensive upper ones are completely dedicated to water - here you can hear its murmur, whispers and sighs everywhere. In the lower gardens you can see a small pond with water lilies, as well as thickets of palm-garballons, endemic of Majorca.
