Spain can not help but likes colorful and bright it attracts the gentle sea, attracts the greatness of its mountains and conquers the openness of its inhabitants. Of course, the first impression of the country is at the airport. It is here that for the first time, Spain will be pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, friendly staff, simplicity and safety.
The largest airport in Catalonia is located about 12 km south-west of the center of Barcelona. Equipped with three runways, it annually receives about 20 million passengers from Vueling Airlines and Clickair, Spanair, Air Europa and Iberia Airlines.
Airport Infrastructure
At the moment there are two T1 and T2 terminals operating at the airport. Terminal T2 includes three sectors A, B and C. Between the terminals, it is quite easy to move around: free buses run here. You can take your luggage to the luggage room in sector B. If things were lost, contact the BloqueTecnico building for the search for missing items Barcelona's modern airport offers services such as currency exchange, restaurants and shops, eateries, rent a car, indoor and outdoor parking
How to get to the city
By RENFE train or commuter train it is possible to get to the city quickly and cheaply. The train departs from the platform at the airport every 30 minutes from 6 am to 12 noon. The ticket can be bought here at the ticket office or in special vending machines for 3 Euros, avoiding the queue. The trip lasts about 25 minutes. The train makes three stops: Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gracia and Clot. From here almost all metro lines and bus routes diverge. Remember, there is no direct exit from Terminal No. 1, not a platform, you will have to make a small trip by a free bus.
There is an airport bus stop in front of each terminal, Aerobus, connecting the airport and the city center every 12 minutes. Buses run from 6:00 am to 1:00 am. The ticket will cost about 5 Euro. Like the train, the bus makes three stops: Plaça Espanya, Gran Via / Urgell, Plaça Universitat. If you are unlucky and you flew in the night, do not despair: you can get to Plaza España by bus number 106, which leaves from the airport every hour.
A long taxi queue will wait for you immediately at the exit from the airport. What kind of yellow car you will get, determines the traffic control officer airport. If you still decide to go by taxi, we recommend that you bring along a printout with the name of the hotel and its address in Spanish. The trip will be calculated by the meter, usually the journey time does not take more than 10-15 minutes. Including the number of occupied places and luggage, the cost will be approximately 30 Euro.
