Entertainment, excursions and attractions Alicante
The local architecture combines Greek, Moorish, Romanesque and Gothic styles, harmoniously completing this palette of the building in the Art Nouveau and Baroque style. The buildings in each of the styles symbolize a certain stage of the history of the city.
Be sure to take a look at the building of the Basilica of Santa Maria (Basilica de Santa Maria), originally built in the Gothic style, and later supplemented with a Baroque facade. Opposite the museum is La Acegurada (Museo de la Asegurada), in which you can find the works of Spanish masters of the 20th century - Juan Gris, Julio Gonzalez and Eusebio Sempere, the founder of the museum.
- Climb to Santa Barbara and look at the exhibition (entrance, by the way, everywhere is free).
- To find out the most authentic authentic paella.
- Take a walk along the beach of Mucavist from the Cape of Albuferet to the cape at El Campello.
- Take a few hours to rent a yacht and get incredible sensations.
- Have breakfast at leisure in a cafe on the embankment.
Just next to it is the main and most popular landmark of the city - the Fortress of St. Barbara (Castillo de Santa Barbara). It stands on the rock of Benacantil (166 m above sea level), from where opens a surprisingly beautiful view of Alicante and neighboring settlements. On the hill from the other side of the city is another castle - San Fernando (Castillo de San Fernando), built during the war for independence 1808-1814
For hiking, Explanada de Espasa boulevard, whose pavement is made in the form of a mosaic consisting of 6 million pebbles, is perfect. Along the pavement there are four rows of palm trees. Not far from the boulevard is the Plaza de Portal, through which you can reach the Old Town through the cramped streets.
Events and nightlife
Alicante is known for its hospitality, tourists are always welcome here. The city does not sleep 24 hours a day - nightlife is as intense as daylight. You can have a good time in one of the innumerable cafes or in pavilions, in which almost every day there are various concerts. The most popular holiday destination for tourists and locals is Paseo Maritimo (Primorsky Boulevard). If you are lucky and you will be able to get on one of the holidays - it is recommended to stay closer to the central street of La Rambia de Mendez Nunes, through which all the festive processions are held.
