Arkhipo-Osipovka has a moderately warm climate. Arkhipo-Osipovka also houses the equally famous Mikhailovskoe fortification, which was part of the Black Sea coastline system .Built in 1837 at the mouth of the Vulan River, it until the last defended the neighborhood from the assault of the mountaineers .Realizing that it is impossible to keep the enemy further, Arkhip Osipov, one of the defenders of the fortress, blew up the powder storehouse, perished together with the enemy .The commemorative white cross dedicated to him stands at the site of the destroyed warehouse .The fortification itself was not destroyed and today it is a historical monument of the Caucasian War of 1840, in whose territory the Caucasus History Museum is opened .
Just before the entrance to Arkhipo-Osipovka, you can stop and admire the "Lodge with deer". This is a two-storey house made of wild stone, decorated with more than 50 sculptures of animals and birds: deer on the roof, bats on the pediment, with a bear at the entrance. In the middle of the last century it was built by a local forest warden, and the house became a full-value tourist attraction of the village.
