Historians still can not establish the exact date of the founding of the village of Ivanov. There is no clarity about the roots of the city's name. But the generally accepted version was the origin of the name of the settlement from the church of John the Baptist, built in ancient times on these lands, although no documentary evidence of the existence of such a temple was found.
Inclusion of the city in the "Golden Ring" is not accidental: in addition to the museum of chintz, many other museums are open here. Ivanovo is also famous for its ancient churches, historical and revolutionary monuments, the houses of the manufacturers, luxurious estates.
