Shukhov Tower, named after its architect and engineer B . Г . Shukhova, was built in the late 19th century specifically for the All-Russian industrial and art exhibition . In 1896 it was held in Nizhny Novgorod and it was there that this first hyperboloid design, patented by Shukhov . was presented. After the end of the exhibition, the tower was bought by Yu . . Nechaev-Maltsev , the patron of art, the creator of the Museum of Fine Arts (now the Museum of Fine Arts . . . Pushkin) . The tower was transported to Polybino, where it was installed in the territory of the Nechaevs' manor under the guidance of Shukhov himself .
