Novokuznetsk International Airport, located 20 km from the city, is also known as Novokuznetsk-Spichenkovo. In 1990, flights to Moscow started from here, in 1998 - international charter flights, but soon the airport suffered the fate of many other regional Russian airports - the financial crisis. In 1999 Spichenkovo ​​was acquired by ZAO Aerokuzbass, but only in 2012 the airport received the status of international.

The first foreign flight from Novokuznetsk was performed in Bangkok. Now the plans to open flights from Novokuznetsk to such major cities of Siberia as Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Tomsk. For today, flights are made in several directions - Moscow-Domodedovo (S7 Airlines), Bangkok and Antalya (Nordwind Airlines) and Moscow-Sheremetyevo (Aeroflot). "Aerokuzbass" carries out charter flights on custom-made Mi-8 helicopters.

From Novokuznetsk-Spichenkovo ​​Airport to Novokuznetsk can be reached both by taxi and by public transport. So, to the railway and bus station from the airport you will take a bus number 160. There is also a message with Prokopyevsk - buses number 10 and number 20. Other nearby cities will most likely have to go by taxi.
