Add a review about the Ryazanka manor

The names of the outstanding geographer, scientist and traveler P. Semenov-Tian-Shansky are the streets in four cities of Russia and Ukraine, and his native village is called Ryazan and is located almost on the border of the Lipetsk and Ryazan regions. There is still a manor in which Peter Petrovich was born and spent his childhood.

However, the one-storey house of the late 18th century, where the future scientist was born, did not survive: until now only the mansion built in 1830 by his father Semenov-Tian-Shansky.

The building with the mezzanine is sustained in the traditions of late classicism, now it houses a museum devoted to the life and work of the famous scientist, state and public figure.

Around the manor house in the 1830s a landscape park was laid, which is now considered the most rich in species composition throughout the Lipetsk region. There are more than one hundred species of arboreal and shrubby vegetation, more than half of which are exotic. And a special attraction is the Siberian cedar, which was planted by Semenov-Tian-Shansky himself.
