The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has developed tours that will compete with the Golden Ring of Russia. The new "Silver Necklace of Russia" covers 11 regions of the North-West Federal District, tour sales will start in the summer of 2015

The main points of the new route are located in St. Petersburg, Leningrad Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Pskov, Kaliningrad and Novgorod regions, as well as in the republics of Komi and Karelia and in the Nenets Autonomous District. The route offers several radii, which will allow tourists to make the tour as convenient as possible.

The main accent of the "Silver Necklace of Russia" will be made on cognitive historical and cultural tourism. The Ministry of Culture believes that the new route will attract both Russians and foreign tourists.

The cost of the tour will depend directly on the length of the route. So, a three-day bus tour with a visit to St. Petersburg, Pskov and Veliky Novgorod with three meals a day and accommodation in hotels will cost about 8 thousand RUB.
