The largest node of local and international airlines in the Southern Federal District is Adler airport. It serves not only the largest resort in Russia - Sochi, but also the regions close to it, including Abkhazia. Passenger turnover is the eighth in the country, second only to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnodar and Ekaterinburg airports
How to get there
There is an airport 35 km from the center of Sochi, you can get here by a well-arranged highway on a personal or public road ( including taxis) transport. Aeroexpress, which handles air travel in Moscow, is preparing to launch a line linking the airport to the city of Sochi. The train will also make stops in Adler and Khosta, which will allow using it for trips along the coast.

Some history
The history of this airport begins in 1945, in 1956 the building of the air terminal and runway-1 was built. It was from this moment began the steady increase in the capacity of the airport. Since 1981 Adler airport has become international: flights of various airlines it is connected with Bratislava, Budapest, Prague and a lot of cities in the Near and Middle East. At the moment the airport has two runways allowing the airport to accept almost any type of aircraft
Infrastructure
International flights are carried out since September 2010 from a new terminal that offers passengers a developed infrastructure uktura. Cafes, shops, restaurants, airline offices, luggage storage, duty-free zone, ATMs and numerous recreation areas provide a comfortable stay at the airport.
