Coffeeshops in Amsterdam: Can I go to the tourists?

The Dutch coffeeshops, in addition to coffee, you can taste marijuana and other light drugs, have always been one of the attractions of the country that attracted a lot of tourists to it. But from January 1, 2012, a campaign was launched to reduce such establishments and limit the number of their visitors.

In the Dutch provinces of Zeeland, Limburg and Nord-Brabant in coffeeshops from May 1, 2012, to foreign tourists. Only owners of weedpass - special passes, such cards of club members can get visits to such establishments, which only local residents over the age of 18.

In Amsterdam this restriction does not work yet, they say that it is unlikely to be introduced before January 1, 2013. So while in the local coffeeshops tourists are allowed, and the entire range of menus are sold completely freely. Vendors do not believe in future changes at all, and the owners of coffee houses are actively fighting against the adoption of universal restrictive laws. True, the court of The Hague has upheld them for the above-mentioned provinces, so it's next to appeal the prohibitions to the European Court of Human Rights
