Mountain open spaces

Landing in Montenegro was scary: the plane was also trying to touch the wings of the ubiquitous mountains .The view of the snow-capped peaks tickled nerves, the Smesharik-Barash from the daughters' cartoons with his sacramental came to mind: "Someone has mountains, but I have GOOOOR! "And somewhere in the soul stirred turmoil: snow in the mountains, and the sea with such a proudly cold name - Adriatic! - it can not be warm .But the first sip of the September Tivat air - wet, hot, as if breathing over a pot of boiled potatoes - dispelled the alarm of Siberian tourists: we flew into a velvety summer, surrounded by mountains and a warm emerald sea!

From Tivat, where our plane landed, we went to Budva - the most famous resort town of Montenegro .By taxi, paying 15 EUR .Then they decided that we would take the car for rent: the rights to Montenegro are Russian .Budva itself can be "covered" in three days .In the first (the order is not really important) - walk around the Old Town, and then sit on the terrace of the villa or balcony of the rented apartment, watch the sun fall into the mountains, wash down the spiritual enthusiasm (and it will not keep you waiting) with fine Montenegrin wine, seize with homemade goat cheese, baked bakery and fresh proshot .In the second and third days - to swim in the same Yadran Sea and sunbath on beaches, of which in Budva a few .The most beautiful, of course - Mogren: the first and second, from where a beautiful view of the Old Town opens .

When the beautiful Budva was finished (it took us more than three days), we went to a car rental. Have looked to itself red "рено" - the compact midget car, comprehensible at the price: 45 EUR per day. And immediately went to Ulcinj, it hurt already beckoned for the sandy beaches advertised in the network. The sand there is really white, fine, but the sea is knee-deep. In general, this is a paradise for children.

We spent half a day in Ulcin and went to look for Skadar Lake, the largest on the Balkan Peninsula. It has amazed us!

We not only looked at the lake from a height where our rented car was almost attacked by a clearly not in the spirit of a mountain goat, but also descended along a winding narrow road to a village without a name, where we found a local fisherman who rolled us in his dilapidated boat on lake, and then at the sight of money quickly retired .On the way back we met a fast-moving turtle and got caught in a pouring rain, which obviously only happens in the mountains .Such that the wipers of the minicar did not cope, and we prayed all the way to avoid falling into the gaping emptiness from the slippery mountain road .

The second day of the autotravel trip over Montenegro, we dedicated the former capital of the mountainous country of Cetinje. Now it is a cultural and historical center, there are many monuments of architecture. But the next mausoleum of Negosh, located on Mount Lovcen, was remembered by the sensation of those three meters above the sky. To get to the tomb of the last spiritual ruler of Montenegro, you need to walk along a narrow path without a fence, while you can touch the clouds with your hands! The end of the day was Kotor, his Stari Grad conquered us so much that we returned there again literally every other day.

Well, the last thing: rent a car in Montenegro is also for the trip to neighboring Croatia. The owner of the villa, where we rented the room, ordered the entry permit. Provided that you go no longer than a day, nothing more and not necessary. Only the passport. We visited Dubrovnik, or rather, in its Old Town, and in two other Croatian towns, whose names were not remembered in memory, but their beaches are still like that!

Byron called Montenegro an earthly paradise, Vysotsky in his poems wanted to see her his second homeland. And I will say simply: this small mountainous country is definitely worth a visit, and more than once.
