This city, like no other, keeps an amazing mix of all sorts of styles and epochs. It starts with the architecture of the Mughals, which is vividly represented in the ensemble of buildings of the former Main Post Office and the Supreme Court, the city theater and Sultan Abdul-Samad. In addition, the old railway station is noteworthy. All these buildings were erected during the late 19th - early 20th centuries.

Next comes the Tudor style - the Royal Selangor club and the Anglican Cathedral of St. Mary. An excellent continuation will be the Victorian style and the hotel-palace Carcosa Seri Negara in the depths of the large lake park (Taman Tasik Perdana), as well as the general consulate of Pakistan, the Clock Tower, the National History Museum and the city library. Islamic motifs can be found in the architecture of mosques for example, the Mosque of the Federal Territory, National, Usad bin Zayed.)
