Sistine Chapel in the Vatican - one of the most famous and popular among tourists around the world, a monument of culture and history. The structure was built in the second half of the 15th century by the order of Pope Sixtus IV. In honor of the pope the chapel got its name. The construction of the building was conducted under the guidance of the architect George de Dolci.
Externally, the building, honestly, looks rather modest, but when you are inside, you can lose the gift of speech from the beauty around you.
The Sistine Chapel is popular, first of all, thanks to the beautiful and breathtaking wall murals. Over the "design" worked such famous masters as: Sandro Botticelli, Pinturicchio and Michelangelo. The last of the named masters created by the order of Pope Paul III the legendary fresco "Last Judgment". This painting is amazing!
It was here from the end of the 15th century to the present day that the Conclave is a meeting of Catholic cardinals who, after the death of the incumbent pope, elect a new pontiff. White smoke above the Sistine Chapel informs that the Catholic world has received a new pope.
A ticket to the Vatican Museums costs 15 EUR. After paying 4 EUR, they can be purchased through the Internet, which will avoid queues.

Early in the morning by bus we drove into the Vatican, to the Museums. The first thing that caught my eye is a huge line of tourists who want to get to the Museums. The queue moved rather quickly and already in about an hour we got inside. Having bought tickets, the cost of which was 23 euros, we made a wonderful excursion. Our trip to the Museums included a visit to ... Read the whole review

The Sistine Chapel is located on the territory of the Vatican Museums, so to get there, you will not only have to pay 15 euros for entrance tickets to museums, so to pass a decent distance to the museums. After all, the chapel is located in the vicinity of St. Peter's Cathedral, there is even an entrance to the chapel from the cathedral, but tourists are not allowed there, and it's a pity it could save time. Photographing in the chapel is prohibited, you can simply select the camera. You can not even talk - like a pair of air, leaving ... Read full review
