The world's most famous opera theater is in Italy, and the name is La Scala. For already three centuries, it is the meeting place of the Milan aristocracy, all real connoisseurs of opera and other connoisseurs of fine art are dreaming here.
Interiors
Here everything is thoroughly impregnated with luxury and grandeur - armchairs upholstered in velvet, walls lavishly decorated with stucco and covered with gilding, mirrors reflecting a brightly lit stage, incredibly expensive costumes of artists. Naturally, the audience in La Scala is special, including the most notable Italian families, world celebrities, businessmen and politicians, as well as all those who love art so much that they will not regret paying for the entrance ticket from twenty-five to two hundred and twenty-five EUR.

Dress code
The spectators themselves create a special solemn atmosphere - the fact is that the dress code is observed here (of course, your outfit can be casual, nobody will drive you, but do not expect approving looks). In general, men come in chic costumes, ladies wear dresses "on the floor", throwing expensive fur on their shoulders and complementing the image with diamonds.
Architecture
But all this splendor is hidden behind quite ordinary and even inconspicuous facade. Just when Joseppe Piermarin was engaged in erecting a new theater in the place where the old church of Santa Maria della Scala once was, he decided not to waste time and money on exterior decoration, because the building was in a close environment of residential buildings. In addition, he was hurried by the Milan aristocracy, whose money was spent building, because the former city theater burned down, and the public constantly demanded shows.
It is generally surprising how such a grandiose building was built in just two years, the first production of La Scala took place in August 1778, gave the opera Salieri Recognized Europe.
Ground floor, bed, seats
The most prestigious places are lodges, aristocratic Milanese families rent them for the whole season (from December 7 until the summer). In this case, if you decide to buy a ticket in a box, it is worth remembering that the scene can be seen only from the first two places (there are five in all). No less expensive and places in the so-called T-zone pit. On the opening day of the season tickets are cheaper than two hundred EUR is simply not, in the usual days on the gallery you can get and for twenty-five EUR, you can buy tickets at the theater ticket office and in the metro near it.
