Is it expensive to spend a vacation in Venice during the carnival?

Responses information department of "Subtlety of Tourism"
One of the most famous carnivals of the world, Venetian, starts 57 days before Easter according to the Catholic church calendar and ends on the eve of Lent. In 2012 it will be held from 11 to 21 February. All these 12 days in the city are held colorful performances and costumed processions.

At this time and without that a small stream of tourists in Venice is getting even bigger. And with it, as in leaps and bounds, prices are rising. For this period, appreciably (20-30 percent), hotels are becoming more expensive, and despite this, places in them are redeemed several months before the carnival. The cost of a double room per night can range from 150 to several thousand EUR, depending on the hotel. Already a few days later, hotels are emptying, and prices are smoothly returning to their usual for this time of year level.

Food is becoming more expensive, wine prices remain unchanged. An exception can only become traditional cocktails "Bellini" and "Rossini", and even then not everywhere. But souvenirs, including the famous Venetian masks, alas, "bite". If this does not frighten you, be sure to go for bright impressions at the Venice Carnival! This can be done easily by buying the appropriate ticket to the travel agency or by organizing a trip in advance.
