How to get to Brescia
To begin with, in Brescia, as in many large industrial cities, there is an airport called Gabriele D'Annunzio. It is located 20 km from the center and receives planes from Barcelona, London, Rome, Naples and some other Italian cities, as well as from Sardinia. In Brescia from the airport runs an airbus, which costs 7.50 EUR one way. Once a day, for 11 EUR, you can come here (and, accordingly, leave back) from Verona, from the railway station of Porta Nuova.
If you will get to a place from other Italian cities, then it is best to use local trains. From the same Verona you can get to Brescia in only 30-40 minutes, paying 16-21 EUR depending on the class of the car, a trip from Milan will take about an hour and cost 18-24 EUR, but from Rimini you have to go 3.5-4.1 hours with a transfer in Padua (the whole road will cost 46.50-65 euros), Bologna (78.50-108 euros) or Parma (34.90-45.40).

Kitchen and restaurants
In the traditional cuisine of the province of Brescia strongly influenced by the cuisine of the German. It manifests itself in a greater than in the rest of Italy love of meat, especially beef, and butter. A special type of beef dumplings with beef (casonsei) and roast pork and larks baked in an oven with butter (spiedo) can then be called a proprietary Borshian dish.
Suffice it and traditional Italian dishes: all kinds of pizza (Al Teatro pizzeria is good near the city theater building, Tempio Inca Pizzeria) and pasta, and, most importantly, polenta can be eaten three times a day with appetite. All these delights can be sampled at numerous local restaurants, cafes and authentic trattorias: there are quite a few of them in the historic center of the city, near the St. Julia Monastery.
