The Paris Louvre is rightfully considered the most famous museum in the world - it is unlikely that you could quickly find a person who has not heard of it, even if you seriously asked such a purpose. In addition to being famous, the Louvre break records in other categories - it is the largest and most visited of all museums in the world, not to mention the fact that there is not such a huge collection in any of them.

In addition, the Louvre is the only museum, which opened its own "McDonald's.

The Louvre's exposition

The exposition of the museum is located in a grand palace with a long eight-hundred-year history. The Louvre Museum was only at the end of the 18th century, before that there were treasuries of the ruling dynasty and the Ministry of Finance, as well as meetings of government members. Yes, and the building itself with age has changed noticeably. Originally the palace was relatively modest in size, and over the centuries it built new extensions, and the glass pyramid, which was the second after the Eiffel Tower, was built only at the end of the 20th century.

The museum has its own "first lady" - Mona Lisa, who want to see on which so much that the hall in which it is located, at times resembles public transport during peak hours. To the picture, even a special officer is assigned, making sure that no one enjoys her mysterious smile for too long, further detaining the remaining visitors. Two other ladies lag behind her: Venus Milo and Nika Samothrace.

Louvre tour

Although, of course, besides them, the museum has many other noteworthy exhibits. There are so many of them - about six thousand - that if you are not going to stay in the museum for a whole week, it makes sense to plan your route in advance, for example, after consulting the floor plan of the museum on its website. Even if you are trained by visiting the Pushkin and the Hermitage, do not forget that now you are dealing with the largest museum in the world, which is difficult to circumvent the day without even stopping at a single picture.

It is worth bearing in mind that the day off The museum is not on Monday, like the others, but on Tuesday. In addition, on Thursdays and Fridays, he works four hours longer, until 22:00, and on the first Sunday of every month, the entrance is free.

We went to Paris for 2 days. Everything is beautiful, everything is interesting .... only here the sediment still remained - sanctions touched tourists. Russian speaking guides were filmed, guidebooks in Russian are now sold last. In tourist buses there is still a Russian translation. It's sad .... I wanted to book a guide in the Louvre - for Russians there is not! For the Japanese, the Chinese and all the others there is)))) sad.

To visit Paris and not to visit the Louvre is a crime! This museum of art, beauty, great artists and creators. I know that many tourists come to the Louvre and do not get inside because of the huge queues. My friend and I decided to go to the Louvre. For this, we chose a cunning tactic - went there a few hours before closing! And it worked - there was almost no queue, all the people hurried to their homes, and we were able to enjoy the greatest masterpieces of the Louvre without queues. Outside, the Louvre is very ... What to say, but the Louvre must be visited in Paris! The most popular museum in the world, huge and beautiful - all this is about the Paris Louvre. We with the guys on arrival in Paris first thing went to the Eiffel Tower, and then the Louvre came. My friends first resisted and did not want to visit the Louvre because of the huge queues, but I persuaded them! And now we are standing at the famous pyramid, through which the entrance to the Louvre is carried out. We were lucky, because of the early morning visitors were many ... Read the whole review

The Louvre is not just a container of outstanding works of art - it is a whole world, which probably absorbs too much)
To begin with, this is a royal palace with a lot of covered passageways and galleries. You can enter here from the central entrance through the pyramid (around which there are still many disputes), but it is possible from the side doors. By the way, he eats another special entrance through a secret gate, which was invented especially for one of the queens. In front of the Louvre square with a fountain. a bit further, the Tuileries and gardens ... Read the whole review

The Louvre Museum is, of course, a museum of museums. He simply amazes with its scale and abundance of exhibits. Particularly pleased with the antique collection, all these beautiful sculptures, the perfection of forms, and the French impressionists. No, still, of course, Mona Lisa, from which, literally, you can not take your eyes off. If you do not believe me, go and look her in the face. I guarantee that she will smile only for you and for you. My favorite Goya also caught me. But only connoisseurs of the artist's work will understand this.

Louvre - the world's greatest museum October 21, 2013

One of the main reasons we went to Paris is the Louvre Museum. The Louvre is a huge castle. Getting to the subway to the museum is very simple. In the middle of the museum a glass pyramid was built. Since it is very easy to get lost in the Louvre, the pyramid divides the museum into several parts, making the visit more convenient for tourists. There are a lot of visitors in the museum. For 5 euros you can buy a player with an audio guide, but unfortunately there is no Russian language. In the museum we really liked the following things: "Mona ... Read full review

The Louvre is located very close to the spacious and beautiful park of the Tuileries, where you can walk up to and before visiting the Louvre, and Place de la Concorde. To get to it is very easy by metro, Louvre - Rivoli metro station.
Opening hours: 9.00-18.00 (leaving Tues). A ticket for an adult costs 11 euros, and children under 18 years old are free. It is very advantageous to buy a subscription for museums in Paris, if, of course, it is planned to visit not only one Louvre.
The Louvre is not without reason considered to be a museum of museums. You can roam there ... Read full review

In 2012, I toured the cities of Europe and the program included visiting Paris, as well as excursions to the main attractions of this city. Of course, the first item of the program was a visit to the world-famous Lur museum. It is a huge museum with exhibits dedicated to different epochs and cultures. Entrance to the Louvre for children under 18 years old is free, however, as in many European museums. For students there are discounts on student cards. At us tickets included in cost of the permit, therefore to us not ... Read the whole review

Unforgettable memories remained after visiting the Louvre .We flew "gallop across Europe", because we went there for an hour and a half before the museum's closing .We stood in line, smiled - photographed near the immortal creation of Leonardo da Vinci - Gioconda, ran into the Greek hall to armless Venus and other masterpieces of ancient sculptors, looked at Egyptian sarcophagi and paintings of famous artists .Having jumped out into the street, they sat down to rest near the glass pyramid domes in the courtyard of the museum .Talking and smiling attracted the attention of two French guys .Meet the aborigines was amazing, because basically on the weekend in the city hang out only tourists .The guys brazenly tried to get acquainted with us, unambiguously letting us know for what purpose .Such acquaintances were not included in our plans, so we got rid of them by force, hurried to the train .
