Paris: where to stay?

Responsible information department of "Tourism Subtlety"
The map of the districts of Paris can be compared with a snail: administrative units are spirally located. The numbering starts from the center, from the first number and then clockwise to 20. That is, the outlying areas have the largest number, and the first ten districts belong to the historical heart of the city.

It goes without saying that the closer to the first numbers , the more expensive and more prestigious hotels will be. You can find a relatively inexpensive apartment in Louvre -2 (Bourse) district, but in 5 (Pantheon), 6 (Luxembourg) and 9 (Opéra) districts there are much more democratic options.

In general, those who plans a rich excursion program for the main tourist sites of the city, it is worth to settle in the first 8-10 districts of Paris. They also suit shoppers (especially 1 and 2). The Latin Quarter in the 5th-6th arrondissement and Montparnasse at 14 (Observatoire) can be recommended to romantically tuned tourists who love the nightlife of the big city.

But the bohemian Montmartre, district 18, is much closer to the outskirts of Paris, so that the sights of the center will have to drive up. Many people do not advise 11 (Popincourt) and 12 (Reuilly) counties because of the abundance of Africans in them.
