We are going to the Czech Republic in November. Will there be locks at this time?

Responds to Elena Ermakova, Russian Express Company
Most castles in the Czech Republic are closed to visitors from November to April.

But there are also locks, working on applications with groups of 15 people. The castles presented in our excursion programs during this period are: Czech Stenberg Konopishte, Dobriz, Zvikov, Orlik, Detenice, Cesky Krumlov, Gluboka nad Vltavou.

Many locks will be already closed, some will work on winter routes. You need to specify which locks you need.

November is not the best time to inspect castles in the Czech Republic: most of them are closed, since autumn is a low season for this direction. However, there are those that work all year round, for example: Loket Castle near Karlovy Vary, Karlštejn 30 km south-west of Prague, Konopishte 50 km southeast of the capital and Castle Melnik in the same administrative center 30 km north Prague.

Moreover, in Prague itself, you can spend 3-4 days enjoying this city-fairy-tale. Even staying in the capital, you can travel around the surrounding castles - one day will be enough to visit the castles of Cesky Krumlov on Vlatva in the same town. Do not miss the chance to travel to Pilsen, the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic with equally attractive sights, and Budejovice at the confluence of Vlatva and Malse, especially interesting for beer lovers, etc.

If you want more castles, you can continue your journey to neighboring Bavaria, where all the palaces and castles are open all year round. Getting there is not difficult: from Prague, trains run every day to Munich (about 7 hours), Nuremberg (about 5 hours) and Dresden (2-3 hours).
