Most of the museums do not work during the first two days of the Chinese New Year, and on Christmas Eve and before the European New Year it closes an hour or two earlier. The ticket offices usually stop working an hour before closing the museums.
There are several ways to save on visits to the museum. Firstly, on Wednesdays many of them can be visited absolutely free of charge. Secondly, for the convenience of inquisitive tourists, a single ticket system is proposed, according to which one can visit at once seven museums. The program includes the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Cosmonautics Museum (except the Stanley Ho Space Theater), the Coast Guard Museum, the Hong Kong Art Museum, the Hong Kong History Museum, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Dr. Sun Yatsen Museum.
