Every morning three hundred and sixty-five days a year, hundreds of thousands of people watch the fascinating ritual of raising the Chinese flag over the huge Tiananmen Square.
The tradition of this is not one decade, but it still raises delight among the guests of the capital of the Celestial Empire and the thrill of the locals. Everything happens in a strict sequence, checked up to a second, the soldiers of the National Liberation Army raise the flag to the thirty-meter high, minting no more and no less for a minute, and exactly one hundred and eighty steps.
Tiananmen Square is the first place to go in Beijing, there is a huge number of attractions associated with the history and culture of the Chinese people. Here everything is striking with its grandeur and monumentality, it is probably quite natural that the main square of one of the largest countries of the world has no equal in size.

For more than five centuries Tiananmen has been a place of national gatherings, it is here that all cultural events of communist China are held, Beijingers come here on a day off to indulge in one of the favorite national amusements - the launching of kites, most tourists are walking here, capturing themselves against the backdrop of unique architectural structures.
A bit of history
Its name was given by the gate of Tiananmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace), which is the main entrance to the ancient imperial residence (The Forbidden City), they were built in the 17th century. But most of the other sights belong to later periods and are symbols of communism. The last reconstruction, thanks to which the area gained its modern look, was held in the middle of the last century.
In 1977, the Mao Tse-tung Mausoleum appeared here, which became the central object on the square, a place especially revered by the Chinese. It is surrounded by massive columns of granite, has several rooms, one of which is a statue of a Chinese leader, carved from marble, and in the other - directly placed his crystal coffin.
Sights
Also on the square is the building of the National Assembly, the Chinese Historical Museum, as well as the Revolution Museum, the ultra-modern Opera House, and in the center is a huge monument dedicated to the people's heroes of the Republic of China.
