Yaremche - an ancient Hutsul town located along the banks of the Prut River, surrounded by mountains of the Carpathian National Park . The town is considered to be one of the most environmentally friendly in Ukraine - Yaremche never had any industrial production . Since the century before last, Yaremche has been chosen as a resting place for tycoons from Poland and Austria-Hungary . Here you can relax all year round and at any age . How to get there to Yaremche

By rail to Yaremche you can get from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Kiev. The recently launched high-speed rail bus route (a Europeanized type of electric train) delivers tourists from Lviv for 4 hours

On the Ivano-Frankivsk-Uzhgorod motorway to Yaremche you can get from the regional center of Ivano-Frankivsk by minibuses that depart every half hour (distance 65 kilometers ). In Yaremche there are buses from Ternopol, Kharkov (on the road for 4 hours), Vinnitsa and Chernivtsi.

Transport

There are shuttle buses running around the city. From Yaremche it is easy to get to almost all the tourist places of the Carpathians, and, most importantly, the nearest ski resorts: the slopes of Bukovel and the ski-jump in Vorokhta. To Bukovel, the bus takes 50 minutes, if you prefer a taxi, then you can get there for 20-30 minutes (the trip will cost $ 10).

Routes in Yaremche

The main place for skiing, of course, is located in nearby Bukovel ( 30 kilometers), Vorokhta, Dragobrat and Yablunits. However, you can go in for mountain skiing without leaving Yaremche - on the slopes of Mount Bagrovets

Two ski descents (which are more suitable for beginners) with a length of 200 and 300 meters and a height difference of 100 meters are equipped with rope tows (lifting cost from 5 UAH) . At the foot of the slope you can rent skis (40 UAH for the whole day), snowboard and sledges. Individual lessons with an instructor will cost from UAH 50 per hour. At the top is a cafe, where tea, coffee and hot homemade wine are served. From the center of Yaremche to the ski lifts can be reached on foot.

The best restaurant in Yaremche is "Hutsulshchina", located in an original building, built without a single nail. Here, surrounded by carved interiors, you can eat a lot of original dishes from mushrooms, listen to folk music. Also, among the tourists there is a kolyba (traditional Transcarpathian mountain cafe with a hearth in the middle) located in the hotel "Krasna sadyba" - where at reasonable prices (150 UAH for two) you can enjoy a delicious lunch in a cozy atmosphere. Main dish of Hutsul cuisine present in the menu of all restaurants of Yaremche is mushrooms, of course white, fried in sour cream or pickled.

In addition to mushrooms, restaurants and cafes Yaremche offers mountain trout to tourists seasoned with various sauces, or simply roasted on the grill. As a side dish, we recommend you try the banosh - the delicious corn porridge, with the addition of sour cream. As a snack, Hutsul's cheese, which has nothing in common with its store relatives, is dry and very salty, it tastes like parmesan.
