How to get here
Locarno, the main city of the Maggiore coast, can be reached by train from Zurich, Basel, Lucerne and other localities of the country. The nearest airport is Lugano, from where you can arrive in Locarno by train or bus. From Zurich airport transfer takes about 3 hours.
