Skansen is an open-air village and is the first ethnographic museum in Stockholm, which "absorbed" houses and buildings assembled all over Sweden. The museum was opened in 1891, and the basis of it was purchased by Arthur Hazelius, the Skansen estate, received its name from a nearby serfress.
Over the years, the "collection" of the museum has grown and now it is represented by more than 150 houses and manors of the 18-20th centuries. In addition, the zoo is located on the territory of the museum, as well as a biological museum and an aquarium.
Directly at the main entrance to the museum stop bus number 44 and tram number 7. You can also get to the museum by cable car, which rises to the top of the hill from another entrance, the so-called "Hazelius Gate".

The museum is open to visitors daily from 10:00 to 15:00, the admission fee is 100 CZK for adults and 60 CZK for children under 15 years old. The funicular works on a certain schedule and only in the warm season.
