The climate in Sri Lanka is warm and humid. During the year there is practically no temperature fluctuation: the difference between the warmest and the coldest months is only 2-3 ° C. So the middle of October will please vacationers with warm weather: in the daytime air temperature reaches +31 ° C, and at night does not fall below + 25 ° C. Seasons differ in the amount of rainfall - rains come almost every day, with showers and thunderstorms.

The central mountain massif in the middle of the island creates a "wet zone", where from May to October the south-western monsoons dominate. It protects the eastern and northern parts of the country from excess rainfall: here the average annual rainfall is 1200-1800 mm, while in the south-west it falls from 2540 to 5080 mm per year.
