I'm an avid smoker. In fact, whether tobacco products are taxed or is it a pure formality? And how in Sri Lanka are things with cigarettes? Somewhere I read that imported tobacco is very expensive for them, but how is local production?

Local tobacco is terrible. The average between Primo and Astra Imported tobacco is banned for sale

You can take a unit from duty free with no problems

From myself I can advise putting a couple of blocks in a suitcase. Survey of tourists in Sri Lanka is a rare rarity, so you will take it. As a last resort, pay the tax.
