In 2014, El Prat Airport in Barcelona was awarded two prestigious international awards. The European Office of the International Airports Council has awarded the main air harbor of Catalonia with the prize as the best airport in the category of more than 25 million passengers for the optimal use of investments in infrastructure, growth in passenger traffic and compliance with environmental standards.
The second award El Prat received from the British company Skytrax as the best air hub in Southern Europe. A prestigious award is given once a year.
Barcelona Airport won in both nominations for the second time in a row.
