The second largest city of South Korea with more than three and a half million inhabitants, Busan is known primarily for its magnificent beaches, hot springs, national parks in the vicinity and the vibrant life of the port city .Sailors from around the world give Pusan a peculiar atmosphere of the "crossroads of the Earth" .However, Pusan is not at all as cosmopolitan as it might seem at first glance - in comparison with Seoul, he is provincially charmingly shy, and the "pale-faced" tourist here will be slyly considered, chuckling among themselves .Among the local attractions are a huge fish market that easily gives odds to Tokyo, the magnificent Buddhist temple of Pomos and, of course, excellent beaches that are rightfully considered one of the best in Korea .

Beaches of Busan
Beaches of Busan are by right considered one of the best in South Korea. Despite the close proximity of the port, they are well-kept and clean, wide and have all the necessary infrastructure (and even more).
Haeundae beach - the most popular, in summer there are always a lot of Koreans who come here from all over the country, and tourists. In July and August, Haeundae is not the most pleasant place for a beach holiday, there is literally nowhere to set foot, but in the winter - on the contrary, it is very quiet here. For about 8 EUR you can rent an umbrella and a deckchair. From entertainment - a lot of bars and beach restaurants, water sports stations. The Busan Aquarium with a rich collection of marine life is also located on Haeundae.
The sandy beach of Sonjon stretched out in the shape of a crescent moon for 1, 2 km along the bay. It is more peaceful here than in Haeundae, even during the high season, but the beach has one drawback - it closes early - between 16:00 and 18:00. The place under the sun will cost the same 8 EUR. In winter the beach does not work.
The beach of Kvanalli also resembles a crescent moon, there are no strong sea disturbances. At 1, 4 km of its useful length can be located with sufficient comfort and in relative privacy. In general, this beach is more democratic, and cafes - restaurants here are more approached to the masses of tourists.
Kitchen and restaurants
The main thing of pride of Pusan "chefs" is the mass of dishes from fish and seafood .Among the local specialties - thick cod soup with vegetables "degutan", which is accepted to be absorbed in restaurants "alma mater" - beach area Haeundegu .It is also worth trying a local version of Japanese fugu fish, also prepared in the form of soup, called "boqguk" .Institutions where a poisonous creature is served are marked with a signboard with a picture of a barbed fish, inflated like a balloon .Well, as a beach snack pancakes with seafood and green onions "donne" .
Busan is famous for dishes from raw fish - an analogue of Japanese sushi. The best restaurants of this specialization are located in the multi-storey Millak Town Raw Fish Center on Kwanally beach. Products here are not just fresh, but sometimes live - do not be surprised to see a stirring octopus in the dish.
- Discard soup from a local analogue of a poisonous fugu fish (no less poison than in Japanese!).
- Climb the 118-meter Pusan Tower and admire the surroundings.
- Spend a day at the famous Haeundae beach all over the country.
- Another day to devote to visiting the largest Buddhist temple in Pomos.
- To marvel at the diversity of marine reptiles in the colorful fish market of Chakalchi.
Shopping and shopping
Deciding to go shopping in Busan, tourists invariably begin with his main shopping attractions - the fish market of the Chacalchi. You have to come here from the very early morning to see how the traders start their business, and buy the freshest catch. The chosen marine dweller will be willing to cook in any of the restaurants above the market.
In another popular market of Canton, products from all over the world are sold - products, exotic spices and entertaining gizmos. Other favorite markets in Pusan and tourists are colorful Cooke, Kwanbokdon and Nampodon. For clothing, footwear and accessories of Western brands, it is worth going to the shopping centers "Lotte" and "Shinsake."
Buy products of traditional medicine, as well as get medical advice on the "medical street" Semyon. Well, for a standard range of duty free meals, go to the duty-free shop at the Paradise Hotel in Haeundaga (you will need to show your passport and return ticket).
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Busana
The main attraction of Busan is the magnificent temple complex of Pomos ("Temple of Paradise Fish") .Founded in the 7th century, the temple was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, but managed to preserve the original ancient atmosphere .Here you should see a three-story stone pagoda, the main temple with the ceremonial hall of Donjon, One-Stroke Gates (if you look at them from a certain angle, it really seems that they rest on a single support, it symbolizes the only correct way to enlightenment), East and West Pagoda Wonyam and the original stone lamp, as well as eleven huts of hermits of amazing beauty, crowned with Buddha statues .
Another pearl of religious architecture is the Temple-Dragon Palace, located right by the coastline. Among his interesting buildings - an incredible Pagoda of prayers for road safety - it happens! Water in a local hot spring is believed to have healing power. And the temple of Seokbulbs is a hermit's hut, carved into rock, around which you can see giant bas-reliefs of Buddhas, also painstakingly carved into the rock.
You can take a walk in the fresh air in the well-groomed park of Yondusan, where there are a lot of nice cafes and restaurants, as well as the 118-meter Pusan Tower, which has spectacular views of the surrounding area from the observation deck (about 2 EUR). Near the park it makes sense to see the area of "Forty degrees" - several restored streets that convey the atmosphere of Korea in the 1960s with its cobbled alleys and wooden lanterns.
Nature lovers will appreciate the bird reserve of Nakdon, where from October to May there are more than 150 species of birds, and the Busan Aquarium - here you can get acquainted with the rich underwater flora and fauna of the South Sea.
We also recommend to visit local museums: more than 25 thousand exhibits from the history of the region and the city are exhibited in the Museum of Busan, the Museum of Contemporary History will tell about the events after the Korean War, and in the Art Museum the works of ancient and modern Korean artists are presented to the public.
