A seasoned traveler is now difficult to surprise with anything . What are the only ways that travel agencies can not find and attract a customer . One of the ways to fight for a buyer is to expand the portfolio of tourist destinations and types of tourism . A good example is agrotourism, who came to Russia from abroad and has not yet managed to get wide spread and fame in our homeland . However, gradually it is gaining momentum: now agrotourism is most actively developing in Karelia, Altai, Leningrad and Kalinin gradskoye regions .
Not so long ago I managed to feel myself as an agrotourist . This was helped by a visit to a farm for the production of Italian cheeses, which is located in the vast territory of a former marmalade factory in the village of Mednoe . Just imagine itself - it covers an area of 16 hectares! The whole farm is more than a hundred cows that give milk necessary for the production of cheeses . It should immediately make clear: they produce only soft and hard sorts of Italian cheese . It turns out that blue cheese with mold does not tolerate the neighborhood of other types of cheeses and therefore they are not made on this farm .
Guests are kindly met by a guide who performs the function of Cicerone. After a short speech, Chicherone escorts you to a large room with long wooden tables and chairs arranged around the perimeter of the large room - this is a tasting room that attracts visitors during strictly scheduled hours. Perhaps you will think that since the farm specializes in cheeses, then except for cheese there is nothing more. However, this is not at all the case!
For example, during the tasting you can order Italian wine. Next to the cheese plate you will find a piece of paper - this is a hint with the names. Cicherone dwells in detail on each kind of cheese and talks about the way it is produced, the shelf life and other characteristics. After the tasting, you will be offered dishes of Italian cuisine: lasagna "Alla Bolognese" and "Crepe" with spinach and ricotta cheese.
After the pasta you will be treated with "Polpette" - it is an Italian cutlet that seemed to me harsh. The reason for this lies in simple rules, learn about which you can by visiting the farm. In addition, amateur cooks will be able to discover here many subtleties of culinary art. Although I'm a small fan of sweet, but still "Tiramisu" from ricotta and French "Profiteroli" with whipped cream even I appreciated. Here, which is surprising: how in the Italian cuisine were the French profiteroles? I, too, did not go far in solving this riddle. Maybe they wanted to surprise us with their culinary delights? Well, they did it! After a hearty lunch ... we're going to walk around the farm. It should be noted that there will be more time to inspect all the animals living here, if you come here for a few days on your own car. You can settle down both at the farm and in the nearest towns, Torzhok or Tver.
And since agritourism presupposes and rural work, here it will definitely be provided for you! With a strong desire, you can even participate in the process of laying out cheeses. But keep in mind that you will have to get up, no light, no dawn! Cow milking takes place here at four o'clock in the morning, and the leaven starts at six.
The farm can also ride horses, both alone and with an instructor.
It's time to get ready for the return journey, and I still could not admire the animals: there are two ostriches, a domesticated wild boar named Masha, many-many horses, cows, bulls, goats, ponies. And how funny it was to watch when ostriches with wild eyes fly on a carrot that they are served on their palms, and wild boar sucks in a dainty carefully, which it carefully dug out with its patch. If by carelessness to come close, so it is possible and to leave in a small speck from the splashes scattered from the puddle.
