Pellotsaari Island is located in the central part of the Ladoga skerries in the territory of the planned national park "Ladoga Skerries".

Despite its relatively small size (3 km by 4 km), the island is characterized by a wide variety of landscapes and flora and fauna.

Previously, Pellotsaari was a traditional tourist stop on the way to the island of Valaam. The route was well known as a "green parking" between the islands of Konevets and Valaam. Approximate water distance to the island of Konevets - 60 km, to the island of Valaam - 30 km. Currently, this "green parking" is absent.

In the south-western part of the island, the foundations of the houses of Finnish, Swedish and Russian families that lived on the island until the 1920s, foundations of farm buildings, the ruins of individual buildings, hedgerows, ameliorative ditches, planting of some plant species were preserved. There are small quarries on the island, which testify to quartz mining.

Also, there was once a parking lot for barges, which were placed on "dead anchors". The remains of the former pier have been preserved in the eastern part. All historical and geographical sources indicate that the place is navigable. The depth at the shore is 40 m, which allows mooring in large vessels. Photo by Pellotsaari (6)
