Is there a good quality track in St. Petersburg?

Responds information department of "Tourism subtleties"
Motorists in St. Petersburg from Moscow traditionally travel on the Leningrad highway, which is simply called Leningradka. Most often there are impressive traffic jams, so all recommend to travel to St. Petersburg early-early in the morning (about 5 hours). Leningradka is officially recognized as one of the busiest metropolitan routes. But the road itself, in principle, is good: several lanes, fairly even cover.

Khimki Leningradskoe highway ends, then the cars are moving along the federal road M10. Behind Klin, its quality becomes somewhat worse, the number of bands is reduced. Earlier pits and potholes began already at the entrances to Tver, now the situation has somewhat improved. But until the road section from Torzhok to Vyshny Volochok, these changes have not yet reached: the cover is extremely uneven, broken, there is a danger of leaving a wheel in the pit.

Particularly considerate should be in the Valdai district, the town of Krestytsy, and further to Veliky Novgorod. The quality of the road surface is improved already, closer to St. Petersburg.

Be extremely careful, do not overtake lorries, do not drive (if possible) at M10 at night - the route is considered emergency and tense.
