From the village to the cultural center
According to legend, Vorobyovy Gory got its name due to the name of Sparrow, who owned these territories, who parted with them in favor of Grand Duchess Sofya Vitovtovna. From that moment until the 19th century, the Vorobyovy Gory was a favorite resting place for Moscow princes and kings. During the Soviet era, the Vorobyovy Gory mountains were also not neglected: first, they almost accidentally changed their name to the Leninsky Mountains, and then chose them as the location of the country's first university.
During the existence of the Soviet Union, the Vorobyovy Gory radically changed. At the time of the university's laying (1949), the wooded shore of the Moskva River was inhabited mainly by moose, wild boars and rabbits (which, by the way, students regularly saw in the 80's). In 1953, when the university was completed, completed and design of the observation deck. From that moment, the edge of the Vorobyovy Gory became a traditional place for national festivities, and not just the residence of kings and princes.
What to see

Then you have to go to the Moscow River. Vorobyovy Gory is a nature conservation zone where many plants rare for Moscow are preserved. There are many animals and birds here, there are places in the park where they can be fed. An ecological path, convenient for walks, is organized on the territory. It will be interesting here for the children, in the middle of the walk there is a playground for them.
Along the banks of the Moskva River there is a beautiful walking area. Here you can rent a roller or a bicycle and ride along the river along good asphalt. On the bridge across the river the metro station "Vorobyovy Gory" is located. If desired, you can continue to move up the river to the Neskuchny Garden. In the summer, such a walk can be made on a river tram, its station is also called "Vorobyovy Gory".
The park also does not cease and in winter time - there is a ski slope. Traditionally organized sleigh rides, the park is laid for cross-country skiing.
