How to get here
From Moscow to Chekhov is most convenient to get from the station. m. "South" by buses to Protvino, Obolensk or Serpukhov, which make a stop in the city, or on the direct bus number 365. At the weekend, to avoid traffic jams, it is better to take the train (Kursk railway station). The journey time is 1, 5 hours, the ticket price is about 80-100 rubles. The station is in the east of the city, to the center - 1-1, 5 km, 10-15 minutes of pleasant walking.
Melikhovo is located 12 km west of the city, you can get there by taxi or bus number 25 (20 minutes on the way, departure every half hour). On your own car - along the M2 Moscow - Orel to Chekhov, and there turn off on a parallel route to the manor (about 7 km, follow the signs "Melikhovo"). Talezh is on the same road, another 7-10 kilometers to the east, in the opposite direction from Chekhov.
A bit of history
Despite the fact that Chekhov was founded only recently, in 1954, this place is famous for its rich history. The city itself was founded on the site of the village of Lopasnya, near which, in the estate of Melikhovo, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov lived for seven years. This time is not in vain called the most fruitful in the writer's work: it was here that he wrote his famous plays "Uncle Vanya" and "The Seagull". Last, by the way, today flaunts on a blue background on the arms of the city.
In addition, the history of the city is inextricably linked with another "writer's" surname: in Chekhov is the manor Lopasnya-Zachatievskoe. Here lived close relatives and descendants of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, many of which are now buried in the family crypt. It turns out that after the death of the poet Natalia Goncharova married Peter Lansky, whose sisters owned a manor in Lopasna. The widow of Alexander Sergeevich together with the children visited these places often.

The climate of Chekhov differs little from Moscow: winter is relatively mild, thaws are not uncommon, but there are also frosts. Summer is warm and humid. Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Chekhov
In the city itself, the main attraction is the estate of Pushkin-Lansky Lopasnya-Zachatyevskoe, in which lived noble families of nobility, relatives of the great Russian poet. Here the children and grandchildren of Alexander Sergeevich stayed, his widow Natalia Nikolayevna constantly lived with her new husband. Today in this cozy mansion of the beginning of the 18th century there is a museum where you can enjoy the interiors decorated according to the "latest fashion" of Pushkin's time.
The farmstead is in the west of the city, on the right bank of the Lopasnya river. Get there just from the station on the street. Chekhov, then go through the street. Moscow-Soviet, two minutes and you are in place. It's very difficult to get lost, but it's easy to ask the local people for directions. Entrance ticket is 100 rubles, opening hours: 10: 00-17: 00, except Monday. The family necropolis of Pushkin is located next to the elegant Anno-Zachatievskaya church.
In the center of Chekhov there is a renovated farmstead Sadki, which from the middle of the 19th century belonged to a friend of Anton Pavlovich, Pyotr Mikhailovich Ryumin. At the manor there is the church of John the Baptist, surrounded by an old lime park.
Finally, you should take the time to go to the village of Talezh (about 20 km to the southeast). Here is the holy spring of the Monk David, to which thousands of pilgrims from all over Russia flock.
