Shamatovo Manor (officially called the State Historical, Literary and Natural Museum-Reserve of AA Blok) is located a few kilometers from Solnechnogorsk. In 1874, Andrei Nikolaevich Beketov, the grandfather of the great Russian poet, bought Shakhmatovo, and Blok spent every summer in the estate between 1881 and 1916.
How to get there
By train from Leningradskiy railway station to the station "Podsolnechnaya" or from metro station "Vodny Stadion" to Solnechnogorsk, then by bus number 24 to the village of Tarakanovo, from about 2, 5 km walk to the "Shakhmatovo" manor
By car along the Leningradskoye highway to Solnechnogorsk, where, following the signs, turn right on the Tarakanovskoe highway and move to the village of Tarak Newly (about 20 km). In Tarakanovo turn right at the sign to the manor "Shakhmatovo."
Operating schedule and cost
The museum-reserve is open for visitors daily from 09:30 to 17:30 except Monday and Tuesday. Currently, the main manor house presents the exposition "The Old House Will Look Into My Heart", the entrance fee is 250 rubles. per person. For those wishing to visit the museum-reserve excursions are organized - the cost of the excursion to the Shakhmatovo manor in the group of up to 20 people is 800 rubles. The photographing on the territory of the manor will cost 50 rubles. per person, photography at the exposition of the estate is prohibited

Museum and sights Shakhmatovo
The main manor house was built by Alexander Blok in 1910, and in 1921 - almost completely burnt peasants. The house was restored only in 2001, at the same time the first permanent exposition was opened in the manor. The museum-reserve, which included the Shakhmatovo estate itself and the nearest village of Tarakanovo, was founded in 1981.
The exposition located in 10 rooms of the manor, presents the authentic things of its owners, creating the atmosphere of the noble manor of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After climbing the steps of the porch leading to the main entrance to the manor house, visitors enter the hallway connected to the blue living room and dining room.
In blue living room, pasted in a suitable color by wallpaper with light blue French lilies, the former inhabitants of the estate liked to organize parties attended by numerous relatives and friends of the family - the Mendeleevs, including Dmitry Ivanovich himself, his wife Anna Ivanovna, and Andrei Bely, Love Delmas and others
Here, on the first floor, there were rooms of Eliz Avety Grigoryevna Beketova (Blok's grandmother), Andrei Nikolaevich Beketov (grandfather of Blok) and Lyubov Dmitrievna Blok (wife of Blok and the daughter of Dmitry Mendeleyev)
On the second floor of the manor there was Alexander Blok's office, from which a breathtaking view of the neighborhood , which Blok described in his poems.
3 km From the manor, in the former building of the Zemstvo school of the village of Tarakanovo, an exposition dedicated to the life and work of the poet was created and presented by the four thematic sections: "Big Shakhmatovo", "Shakhmatovo encirclement" , "Highlights creative "From the history of study and museum development of Shakhmatov" . The basis of the collection is copies of Blok's drawings and reproduction of his manuscripts, family photos and portraits of friends, the first editions of poems and poetic cycles of Blok, his favorite books and a metric book from the church Mikhail Archangel with the recording of the poet's wedding .
