"The Universe of Water" is an unusual museum complex, opened in St. Petersburg on the initiative of SUE "Vodokanal" . In 2002 an ancient water tower in the center of the city underwent a large-scale reconstruction, and the old engineering the building has healed with a new life . In general, the tower retained its historical appearance, and the glass annex on the north side with a panoramic lift and a fire ladder gave the construction a modern look . In 2003, on the anniversary of the city, in the tower building on three floors, The "World of Water" with curious subjects telling about the history of water supply in St. Petersburg, its current state and development prospects .

Interestingly, during the project work, evidence was found that the museum in this building already existed for 100 years ago! However, it was not possible to trace the fate of its exhibits.

Even after 5 years, the St. Petersburg Vodokanal presented to the public the multimedia project "The Universe of Water" in the premises of the former clean water reservoir of the Main Water Station and the installation "Underground World of Petersburg" in the left extension to the tower.

Now the St. Petersburg complex is in the same row with the best European museums where for a long time already have understood, that in children's educational institutions should be both cheerfully and informatively, excursions should be interactive, and exhibits are accessible for consideration and even feeling.
