What is the weather like in Moscow in the summer?

Responsible information department of the "Subtlety of Tourism"
Summer in Moscow is usually quite comfortable and warm, its average temperature is +20 degrees. The most unstable weather is observed in June: at the beginning of the month there are short-term cooling, frequent thunderstorms and rains. The average daily temperature is + 18-19 degrees. In July, it rises to + 20-22, and in August it goes down to + 20.

At the same time, the last two summer months boast a rather large number of days when the air warms up to +30 and higher. If the year turned out to be arid, peat bogs begin to burn and Moscow is able to cover smog, as it was in 2010, 2007 and 2002. But it is rather a rarity, traditionally the summer in the capital is quite wet, rains abundant, frequent, albeit short. Records on the number of precipitations can be called July, June takes an honorable second place

In the city, always a degree or two warmer than in the suburbs, especially it is felt at night. The capital is built up extremely tightly and after sunset the cooling houses warm the air like heaters. Well, in the daytime they also hold the wind, so on especially hot days in the center of Moscow it can be difficult to breathe without additional smoke from fires.
