Kolomna stretches 115 km from Moscow at the confluence of the Moscow River and the Oka. This is one of the oldest cities of the Moscow region, the beloved city of Dmitry Donskoy, the center of Orthodox Russia. Merchant, in some places Soviet, Kolomna all consists of contrasts: the Ice Palace in the style of hi-tech adjoins the Kremlin walls, lined courtyards and abandoned alleys, the street leading to the Uspensky Cathedral is called the name of the mother revolutionary Lazarev, and all it coexists quite harmoniously.
On the street. Lazhechnikova, 5 (on the territory of the Kremlin) there is a cultural center "Liga" where you can book excursions around the city and its Kremlin, buy local lore literature and guidebooks, as well as numerous souvenirs: from magnets and products from birch bark to paintings and jewelry. The local celebrity of the "League" is the "guide" Rex, a nice dog, with a hostess's appearance greeting all visitors to the center.

How to get to Kolomna
By bus
If you believe the schedule, the bus number 460 from st.m. Vykhino goes 1 hour and 40 minutes. Taking into account traffic jams, the trip can stretch from two and a half (on weekdays) to four (in the weekend) hours. To get to the historical center, you need to go to Old Kolomna.
By train
The most convenient way to get to Kolomna by public transport is by train from Kazan Station (or from Elektrozavodskaya metro station, Aviamotornaya, Vykhino) to Golutvin station.
The journey time is 2, 5 hours (1 hour 40 minutes on the Ryazan express train).
By car
Moving from Moscow along the M5 highway, follow the sign for Kolomna (and not the bypass road). The country road will turn into the street of the October Revolution and lead directly to the Kremlin. Kolomna Kremlin
To start a trip around the city is most logical from the Kremlin - here the largest number of attractions are concentrated .Similar to the Moscow one, it was built according to the project of Italian architects, so the fortresses were very "consonant" externally .By the end of the 18th century, the walls of the Kremlin were seriously dilapidated, and it was at this time in the city that the red brick houses began to grow like mushrooms after the rain - the residents simply dragged him through the bricks .The end of the vandalism was put by the tsar's letter with an official order to disassemble the decayed sections of the walls .Therefore, to this day only seven towers (out of sixteen) and two sections (spindle) of the fortress wall have been preserved .Each of the towers has its own curious, legend-wrapped story .
On the left side of the street is located the Brusensky Monastery, founded in the 16th century on the orders of Ivan the Terrible in honor of the capture of Kazan. And it ends with the city park "Blyudechko" overlooking the Moskva River, from which a wonderful panorama of the surrounding open spaces and the Bobrenev Monastery on the opposite bank of the river opens.
The heart of the Kolomna Kremlin is the Cathedral Square with the five-domed Uspensky Cathedral founded by Dmitry Donskoy in honor of the first victory of the Russian troops over the Golden Horde in the Battle of the River Vozha. On the right side of it are the buildings of the Holy Trinity Novo-Golutvin convent, and to the left - the Tikhvin church with the tent bell tower adjoining it. A little closer to the Moskva River is one of the oldest Kolomna churches - the Church of the Ascension of the Speaker, in which Dmitry Donskoi was married in 1366.
Posad
On the territory of the Kremlin, still there are residential areas with a nice one- and two-story merchant building of the 18-19th centuries. And to the east of the Pyatnitskaya Kremlin tower, there is actually a merchant's posad. Its revival is much slower - since the nineteenth century, only temples have survived here, and the houses belong to the twentieth century. On Posadskaya street there is a beautiful Voskresenskaya church (Nikola in the village), decorated with five tiers of kokoshniks, it is the only church in Kolomna, the Old Believer church.
On the way out of Kolomna towards Ryazan, from the opposite banks of the Oka River, the Epiphany Staro-Golutvin monastery, founded by the Monk Sergius of Radonezh at the end of the 14th century, and the Church of the Holy Trinity, erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries after the motives of the St. Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople, gaze at each other. @@
Peace Park
Originally, the park was conceived as an arboretum, and trees and bushes gathered from all corners of the Union were planted on its territory, so in the summer time its shady alleys are a suitable place to relax after a busy excursion program. In the park there are children's attractions, a Ferris wheel, a shooting gallery, go-cart racing and several cafes. Both in summer and in winter, there are holidays and folk festivals.
